Steven Williams is SportsCall’s Player of the Week.
Williams left the Atlanta regional with most outstanding player, and with great reason. In Auburn’s 16-7 win over Coastal Carolina, Williams had four hits, including a homer, and drove in five runs. He built on that performance in Game 2, capping a ninth-inning rally with a two-out, three-run walk-off home run to put Auburn in the regional final.
In this second matchup with Georgia Tech, Williams came up clutch with an opposite-field two-run double to give Auburn a lead they would not relinquish. The win against Georgia Tech sends Auburn to its second straight Super Regional.
