Auburn pitcher Tanner Burns is our SportsCall Player Of The Week.
Burns was brilliant on Friday night versus Cincinnati in his third start of the season and the first complete game of his college career. The right-handed sophomore surrendered just two hits in the shutout. He matched the Auburn single-game record with 15 strikeouts and joined the likes of Casey Mize (2018), Chris Bootcheck (1999), Tim Hudson (1997), John Powell (1994), and Mark Chapman (1986) in the 15-strikeout club.
The Tigers beat Cincinnati, 5-0.
