Player Of The Week: August 19
Pete Alonso is SportsCall’s Player of the Week.
The New York Mets first baseman had a record-breaking weekend in Kansas City. On Sunday, Alonso clubbed his 40th homer of the season, breaking the National League rookie home run record previously held by MVP candidate Cody Bellinger.
Alonso figures to add heavily to his record, with still over a month left in the season and is near the top of the league in RBI's with 95. In addition, Alonso won this year's Home Run Derby back in July.
