The first official Saturday of the College Football season is one month and eight days away.

But hey, who is counting?

Auburn Football discovered on Tuesday the kickoff times for their first, and third games of the season, both against teams from neighboring Georgia.

The Tigers will kick off the season against Georgia Southern on Saturday, September 2, at 6:30 P.M. central. The meeting will be the second all-time between Auburn and the former Division 1-AA powerhouse who now calls the Sun Belt Conference home at the FBS level. The last meeting between these two schools opened the 1991 season, with Auburn winning 32-17.

Auburn will also host Mercer in week three of the season, kicking off at 3 P.M. central on September 16. The Bears from Macon revived their football program in 2013 after a 72-year hiatus. Before the disbandment of the program during World War II, Auburn and Mercer had played 11 times between 1892 and 1941, with the Tigers prevailing all 11 times.

Previously announced, Auburn will travel to Clemson in a return trip from last season on September 9, with kickoff slated for 6 P.M. central.
