In surprising news, it was reported Wednesday night that catcher Carlee Wallace is leaving the program. Many outlets, including AL.com and Inside the Auburn Tigers, reported that Wallace was granted her release, and intends to transfer. Wallace is one of the more decorated players to play for Auburn. She was an All-SEC first team, All-SEC defensive team, and an All-Southeast Region first team selection in 2017, and was also named SEC Player of the Week on April 4, 2017. In the Tigers first ever trip to Oklahoma City in 2015, Wallace was named to the Women’s College World Series all-tournament team. In 186 total games played, the rising senior from Southern California hit .302, including a career-high .333 in 2017. Wallace also had 41 doubles, six triples, 20 home runs, and 123 RBI. Wallace’s transfer destination is unknown at the time of publishing.
