#9 Auburn Softball had a successful weekend in Tuscaloosa, by taking two of three from the #14 Alabama Crimson Tide. A key part in the first ever series win at Rhoads Stadium was pitcher Kaylee Carlson, who was named SEC Player of the Week by the league office on Monday. Carlson won the nine-inning affair on Friday over Alabama, allowing five hits and striking out three in the complete game. Auburn won the game 3-0. She also tossed one inning of relief in Saturday’s 4-1 win over Alabama. The junior from Garden Grove, California joins Kasey Cooper, Haley Fagan, Carlee Wallace, and Alyssa Rivera to be named player of the week by the Southeastern Conference, and the first Auburn pitcher to win the honor since Jenee Loree in 2012.
