Auburn Men’s Basketball’s roster has a new addition in JUCO transfer Malik Dunbar, announces Coach Bruce Pearl on Monday. The 6’6” 230-pound guard has the ability to strengthen one of last season’s weaknesses, according to Coach Pearl. “One of our biggest weaknesses last season was defense, rebounding and physical play. Malik brings a toughness and a winning attitude to Auburn.” Dunbar started all 28 games played this season as a sophomore at College of Central Florida under the direction of Coach Tim Ryan. In 28 games, the North Augusta, South Carolina native averaged 15.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.6 steals in 27.2 minutes per game. Dunbar will also aid Auburn in free throw shooting, as he shot 70.3% last season. Malik Dunbar joins Chuma Okeke and Dayvion Mitchell on the 2017-18 newcomer list. Austin Wiley was included in this season’s signing class, however, he enrolled early, and has been with the program since December.
