Rivera Named SEC Freshman of the Week

Auburn Softball’s Alyssa Rivera has been named SEC Freshman of the Week by the Southeastern Conference offices in Birmingham on Tuesday. In the weekend series against Ole Miss, Rivera batted .500, including an impressive .429 with runners on base, and .667 with runners in scoring position. The freshman also plated the game-winning runs in both wins. Rivera is batting .407 in 29 games this season with two home runs and 14 RBI and is 9-for-17 over the last five games. Auburn Softball returns to Jane B. Moore Field on Wednesday for a mid-week tilt with Georgia State. First pitch is scheduled for 6 P.M.
