Fagan Named SEC Player of the Week

After a week of going 5-for-9 at the plate, recording six RBI, and extending an on-base streak to 23 games, senior shortstop Haley Fagan has been named as SEC Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Tuesday. Fagan’s week started by going 2-for-2 and sending three runs home in a 14-0 win over Alabama State on Wednesday. She carried the momentum into the conference-opening series with LSU, by batting .428 and picking up three RBI as Auburn took two of three from the Bayou Bengals. As of Tuesday, Fagan leads the team in average (.400), and hits (28). The Dunnellon, Florida native also has five doubles, two triples, four home runs, and 19 runs batted in. Fagan and the Tigers will hit the diamond on Wednesday, to face Middle Tennessee State in Murfreesboro. First pitch is scheduled for 4 P.M.
