Makayla Martin struck out four over two innings in Wednesday's win over Alabama State

Auburn Athletics went 2 for 3 on Wednesday, with baseball and softball picking up wins. Luke Jarvis homered and scored three times including the game-winning run as Auburn baseball defeated Kennesaw State 6-4 Wednesday at Plainsman Park. Kennesaw State rushed back in the 8th inning to tie Auburn at 4, but that was short lived. Bowen McGuffin scored Jarvis on a single, then Daniel Robert plated a run on a bases-loaded walk, giving Auburn the win. Cole Lipscomb earned the win. The senior is now 3-0 on the season after tossing the final 1 2/3 innings. Auburn opens a 3-game series with Presbyterian College beginning Friday at 2 PM. No. 2 Auburn softball used a 10-run first inning and a solid pitching outing from Makayla Martin, Kaylee Carlson, and Ashlee Swindle to rack up a 14-0 win in five innings against Alabama State Wednesday night. The Tigers moved to 20-2 on the season and picked up their 12th shutout. Kendall Veach, Madi Gipson, and Haley Fagan each went 3 for 3 at the plate and picked up 3 RBI. Makayla Martin struck out 4 in two innings of work, picking up the win. #12 LSU comes to town on Friday to open a 3-game series with Auburn. Game one begins at 6 PM Friday. Finally, Auburn Men's Basketball lost a heartbreaker in the opening round of the SEC Tournament to Missouri, 86-83. Auburn and Missouri went to overtime tied at 78, but a Kevin Puryear 3 pointer was successful at the buzzer, giving Missouri the win. Auburn moves to 18-14 on the year, postseason arrangements will be announced at a later date.
