Harper Named SEC Freshman of the Week

After a week of averaging 17.5 points per game, freshman Jared Harper has been named SEC Freshman of the Week, as announced by the SEC office on Monday. Harper was one of the main contributors in last week’s games against Tennessee and Alabama. Against Tennessee, Harper was 5-7 from beyond the three-point line and ended 6-11 from the field en route to a 20-point performance. Harper had a solid second half against Alabama last Saturday, as he scored 11 of his 14 total points in the final 20 minutes. This marks the third time this season that an Auburn Tiger has been named Freshman of the Week, and the second time that Harper has earned the honor. The Mableton, Georgia native enters this week averaging 12.9 points per game, 2.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists.
