Jordan-Hare Stadium Could See Renovation

Jordan-Hare Stadium has been rumored to receive upgrades over the last few years. In 2018, one of those facelifts could be a reality. Jim Little, a reporter for the Opelika-Auburn News broke Wednesday that Auburn University Board of Trustees are discussing plans of adding a new game day facility that will be constructed on the southwest corner of the stadium, that according to documents that were included in the Board of Trustees meeting agenda. The proposed project would include a renovation of Auburn Football’s locker rooms, a recruiting space for football and Olympic sports, a club space for fans, and a new press area for media. The space would measure 44,000-square feet and would cost roughly $28 million. The facility would be paid for by Auburn University Athletic Department funds. If the proposal is approved, construction will begin in May and would be completed by July 2018. The next Board of Trustees meeting is set for February 3.
