One day after Auburn Football’s Sugar Bowl loss, one offensive contributor announces his intention to transfer away from the program.

Wide Receiver Stanton Truitt, who also played had a role as running back this season, announced on Twitter that he has made the decision to transfer from Auburn University for his final two years of eligibility in a heartfelt manner:

In his first full season at Auburn, Truitt caught seven passes for 100 yards and a touchdown, he also rushed for 187 more yards and two touchdowns. The breakout game for Truitt’s Auburn career came on October 22 at home against Arkansas, where he scored all of his 2016 touchdowns. Truitt rushed eight times for 78 yards and two touchdowns, while reeling in one catch for 45 yards and a touchdown. All-in-all, Truitt recorded stats in 9 games this season before suffering an ankle injury against Georgia, which caused him to miss the final two games of the regular season. He had one catch for four yards in the Sugar Bowl.

Stanton received his degree in December, and will use his final two years of eligibility as a graduate student.
