One Auburn Softball player, and one signee, are making noise before they see their first action as Tigers.
Freshman Alyssa Rivera, and signee Taylon Snow, participated in the Junior USA Women’s National Team Selection Camp December 31-January 1 in Clearwater, Florida, and discovered Tuesday that they are in the final 24 to continue training for a spot on the Junior WNT roster.
According to teamusa.org, these athletes will compete in a training camp and exhibition games in Oklahoma City and at the World Cup of Softball XII. Following the conclusion of the World Cup of Softball XII, the final 17-player roster for the 2017 USA Softball JWNT will be determined.
Rivera, a freshman utility player from Eagle Lake, Florida, had a stellar high school career that included multiple all-county and district championships at Lake Region High School. Taylon Snow is the number-one rated player in the nation according to FloSoftball.com, and has signed her National Letter of Intent to begin her college career at Auburn beginning in 2018. The Chino Hills, California native will reunite with her sister, Tannon, who transferred to Auburn this season after spending her freshman season at the University of Washington.
If Rivera and Snow make the final-17, they will compete with Team USA at the Junior Women’s World Championship in Clearwater, Florida July 24-30.
