Auburn Soccer picked up two more wins last week in Gainesville, Florida, to move them to their first Elite 8 appearance in program history. Two players were recognized for their performances in Auburn’s 2nd and 3rd round wins in the NCAA Tournament, which advanced them to the Elite 8 for the first time in program history. Senior Midfielder Brooke Ramsier and Junior Forward Kristen Dodson were named to topdrawersoccer.com’s “Team of the Week” after helping their team pick up wins over UConn and Florida last week. Combined, Ramsier and Dodson scored four goals and had three assists. Dodson’s performances in the second and third round increased her point total to 38, which is a single-season program record. This is the second consecutive week that Ramsier has been named to the “team of the week.” In Auburn’s previous two matches, Ramsier has netted two goals and assisted another. In the Sweet 16 win over Florida, she scored the game’s first goal on a shot that was taken from outside of the box. The weekly honor brings two “firsts” to the Auburn Soccer Program. It is the first time that two Tigers have been named to the “team of the week”, and Brooke Ramsier is the first Auburn Soccer player to earn a spot on the “team of the week” in program history. Auburn will face USC for the second time this season on Friday, but, this time, in the Elite 8. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 P.M.
