Three Tigers Named to All-District Team

Three Auburn Tigers have been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America All-District Team.

Placekicker Daniel Carlson, Running Back Kerryon Johnson, and offensive lineman Alex Kozan have been named honorees of the CoSIDA academic all-district. Each of the listed has a grade point average of 3.3. Kozan and Carlson are both enrolled in the master’s program at the Harbert College of Business, while Johnson is in his second year at Auburn, in the College of Education.

Carlson, Johnson, and Kozan were selected in the fourth district, which covers Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida. Nominees must carry at least a 3.30 overall GPA and be in their second year at their academic institution. Winners of the CoSIDA Academic All-American Award will be named on December 1.

Also, on Thursday, it was announced that Carlson has been named as a finalist for the Lou Groza Award, given to the best collegiate place-kicker. This is the second time that Carlson has been named to the watchlist. The winner of the Lou Groza Award will be announced during the College Football Awards Show on December 8th.
