One of the best senior classes to ever play soccer at Auburn University were honored in a big way on Thursday night, as they earned a 3-1 win over Tennessee to wrap up the regular season. Tennessee got on the board first at the 15-minute mark, when forward Hannah Wilkinson headed the ball in following a corner kick opportunity from Rylie O’Keefe. After that, it was all Auburn. Nine minutes later, Kristen Dodson scored an unassisted goal when she chipped the ball into the net from just inside the box. The goal was Dodson’s 11th on the season, which is the team lead. The score was noted 1 at the half, but Auburn would break the tie in the late minutes of the game when a pair of seniors notched their final career goal and assist at the Auburn Soccer Complex. In the 81st minute, Brooke Ramsier played a through ball, and her twin sister, Casie took it to the post for the score. For Casie Ramsier, that was her 32nd career goal, which moved her to third on the all-time list at Auburn. The goal was also considered the game-winning goal. Casie has 11 of those in her career, which matches a program lead last accomplished in 2011. Auburn sealed the deal just three minutes later when Bri Folds netted her third goal of the season. Dani Solaru was credited with the assist. Auburn picked up a key win, 3-1 over Tennessee. The win was the ninth conference win of the season, which is a tie for the program record. The game was also the final game for six seniors (Brooke Ramsier, Casie Ramsier, Haley Gerkin, Samantha Solaru, Kiana Clarke, and Alyse Scott) Between them, there have been 441 games played with 391 starts, 47 goals with 17 game winners and 60 assists. Also, a total of 154 points. Auburn will now shift their focus to the SEC Tournament that will kickoff next week in Orange Beach. Auburn has earned the 2-seed and will face either Tennessee or Ole Miss on Wednesday at 12 P.M.
