Auburn Soccer Looks to Continue Winning Streak This Weekend

Auburn Soccer looks to continue their conference winning streak this weekend, beginning Thursday. The Tigers will play two SEC games this weekend, beginning at 6:30 P.M. in Lexington, against Kentucky. The Wildcats enter the match with a 4-6-2 record, and are 3-3-1 at home. Kentucky is third in the SEC, with 5.17 saves per game. The key player to watch for Kentucky, is forward Tanya Samarzich. Samarzich leads the team in goals, with 6. In their last four games, Kentucky has lost three and tied one. Kentucky has yet to pick up a conference win this season, as well. Auburn will return home on Sunday, to face Mississippi State at 2 P.M. Entering the weekend, Mississippi State is 6-6, with a 1-4 conference record. They earned their first conference win last Friday against Alabama. Junior Forward Mallory Eubanks leads the team in every category outside of goalkeeping, with 7 points, 2 goals, 3 assists, and 17 shots on goal. The Bulldogs will host #4 South Carolina on Thursday prior to playing the Tigers. As for Auburn, goalkeeper Sarah La Beau earned SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors last week, following her monster performance in Auburn's 1-0 win over Missouri. La Beau kept Mizzou off the board, by making four saves, including two within the box. Kristen Dodson leads the team in points, with 19, assists with 5, and goals with 7.
