Soccer Begins Tough Road Trip This Evening

Auburn Soccer looks to bounce back this weekend during a tough two-game road trip that begins tonight at 5PM, at the University of Florida.

The 12th-ranked Gators enter the match against Auburn with a 1-1-0 conference record, and are 6-2 overall. The player to watch for Florida, is Savannah Jordan. The senior leads the Gators with 21 points, and 7 goals. She has attempted 44 shots, with 21 landing on goal.

Auburn and Florida have one common opponent thus far, with Iowa State. Florida defeated the Cyclones to open the season in Gainesville, 5-2. Auburn fell to Iowa State during the Auburn Soccer Classic on September 2nd, 1-0.

On Sunday, Auburn will face Georgia in Athens at 2PM. The Bulldogs enter the weekend with a 3-5-1 record, and are 0-2 in SEC play, after falling to South Carolina and Texas A&M. Georgia and Auburn’s schedule look very similar, as both teams have played Clemson, Iowa State, USC, Cal State Fullerton, Samford, and South Carolina. Auburn and Georgia are both 2-4 against their common opponents, with wins coming against Samford, and Cal State Fullerton. Auburn co-hosted the Auburn Soccer Classic with Georgia, and both teams fell to USC and Iowa State during the first weekend of September. Georgia will host Tennessee on Thursday, before hosting Auburn on Sunday.

Marion Crowder is the player to watch for Georgia. Crowder has 3 goals, and 7 points.

Auburn enters the weekend with a 5-4 record, and 1-1 in SEC play. The Tigers have a win over Vanderbilt. Most recently, Auburn fell to South Carolina, 1-0 last Sunday at home. Kristen Dodson leads the team with 9 total points, and 3 goals. Casie Ramsier leads with 17 shots on goal.
